Spring Break Utah Trip

For spring break this year, we actually did something!  We went on priceline.com and got 3 nights at the Best Western in Provo.  It was so much fun!  As usual, I don't have enough time to write much, so I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Emma and Lauren spent about 4 hours with Jessica, Samantha, and Ashley Luke at the Provo mall.  They shopped, tried on clothes, ate at the food court and acted silly.  It was such a rare treat for them to be at a mall, be with friends all together, and not be with parents!  The fact that the mall had 2 levels with actual escalators really freaked them out.  It reminded me that we're raising real small town Idaho girls, like it or not.  Landon, Levi and I ate lunch at Red Robin (yumm) with John and Jane.  It was so fun to see them, catch up, introduce them to Levi and of course, eat.  After lunch we went to Sportsman's so that John could get Landon a sweet deal on bullets.  Jane and I got cupcakes and waited for them in the car.

Levi, eating a remote that has been touched by hundreds of people who probably have never washed their hands.

Saturday, we visited the real BYU.  I loved every minute of it.  I hope one of the kids goes there!  We shopped at the bookstore where we all got a new shirt and Levi got a hat.

Future Cougar!!

My babies in front of the law building and the Y!

We ate at In N' Out Burger.  So good!!

Even Lauren enjoyed a burger and she's pretty anti-hamburger.

Bob or Bobby (that's his new nickname) enjoyed looking around, wishing he could eat a hamburger.

We spent a lot of time with Kristen and Oliviana while we were there.  Saturday afternoon we watched the afternoon session of conference with them, went shopping at a new factory outlet mall and Cabela's, ate a yummy dinner Kristen cooked for us, then went back to our hotel.  It was a little late for Bobby.  He screamed all the way back to the hotel and was exhausted by the time he went to bed.

Gettin' some Oliviana lovin'.

Rolling around on a colorful blanket Grammy made for Oliviana.

Levi got to swim a couple of times, or maybe just once.  This little float was perfect for him.

The girls tried on prom dresses at JC Penney.

They all bought sunglasses at Claires or Icing or whatever.

So happy they have the Lukes for their life-long buddies.  Good substitutes for more sisters or cousins their age.

Levi, getting some ice cream at the American Fork Costco.

This was where Levi slept at the hotel.  His favorite toy is an empty water bottle.

Hello chunka-chunka lard ass!  I really need to go on a diet!  Anyway, of course we stopped at IKEA on the way out of town.  LOVE those meatballs.  We bought Levi some finger puppets and a fun shape-sorter toy.

Maybe a little sleepy, huh Lauren?

Thanks to Dimetapp Cold and Allergy, Levi did pretty well on the drive home.

Emma really enjoys taking pictures with Levi.

Easter 2013

We bought Levi some clothes that looked more like church clothes now that the RSV season is over and I have to take him to church.  Boys church clothes are hard!  I'm not a big fan of babies wearing suits and ties, so I figure if it has a collar, we're good.  (Oh yeah, I will never let my boy wear shorts to church either.)

Super cute kid.

We hid plastic eggs with $5 bills in them for the girls to find.  They requested a "hard" egg hunt, so we did our best.

We gave the girls each $30 to spend on our upcoming trip to Utah for spring break.

Money makes everyone smile.

Emma made a delicious coconut cake for dessert.  It was soooo good!  We shared about half the cake with our neighbors who were moving.  Too much goodness for one family to eat alone.

This is how Landon spent the afternoon after counting tithing money at church.  For the record, his hand was only on his leg (under the shorts).  No funny business.

Lauren also spent the afternoon catching up on some ZZZs.

Emma, Levi and I prepared dinner and hung out.

Emma took Levi for a little walk to get the mail.  The weather is finally starting to be nice.

We had a casual Easter feast.  Ham (with sweet/sour sauce), asparagus, rolls, twice-baked potatoes, deviled eggs, lemonade and coconut cake.

Nana, Lorina and Christina sent the kids Easter bags with fun things inside.  This is Levi with new outfits and some toys!  He was happy.

The girls got lots of fun girl stuff, plus some money!

They got candy and YW bookmarks from us, in addition to the spending money.
