Weekend Events

Winter in Rexburg is wearing out its welcome at our house. We haven't been doing anything fun. To keep the blog alive, I'll fill you in on what we spent our time doing this past weekend.
Emma is really into making hair clips, so she made these (using flowers from the dollar store, rhinestones, and a glue gun):
We made some homemade brewed rootbeer from a recipe we found in a Revolutionary War book for kids. You mix sugar, yeast, rootbeer extract and water in a milk jug and hope it doesn't explode. After 45 minutes the jug was hard as a rock, so to avoid explosion, we opened it and poured it into 4 quart jars. The lids started bulging, so we put the jars outside on the back porch overnight. The next morning, we put the jars in the fridge to defrost (the liquid had frozen solid). When we sampled the rootbeer the next day, Emma, Lauren and I unanimously agreed that it tasted like butt. Landon said he kind of liked it. All 4 quarts have been dumped down the sink.
