Recent Events

We've been busy doing all kinds of fun summer activities. Here's a rundown:
I'm one of the Activity Days leaders now, and last week we learned cake decorating from the other leader. In anticipation of cake decorating, Emma really wanted to make a cake, so she made a homemade chocolate cake (no cake mix) with homemade 7-minute frosting. It was delicious!
At Activity Days, Emma learned some cake decorating skills and came home with this:Landon made honey-glazed chicken and rice the other day. It is a recipe from Jane's sister Emily's food blog. He added lime juice instead of lemon juice, and it was really yummy. We're thinking it would work really well in a dutch oven.
The Idaho International Dance and Music Festival started last Saturday night with the opening ceremonies. We go to it every year, in spite of Landon's intense complaining about the whole event. We should have listened to him this year though. The dance teams aren't very exciting or interesting this time. We kind of hated the whole experience.

Notice Landon's mocking, mentally-challenged smile.

Love the cupcake. Landon should just appreciate spending time with his cute family. Buck up, its just a little dancing. Okay, boring dancing, but still...

That's actually a good smile on Landon...seems to fit, ha ha. I wish we were there - loved that festival!
