Independence Day

We celebrated Independence Day on Saturday, July 3rd. Rexburg isn't real big on community events on Sundays, so we just pretended Saturday was the 4th of July. We went to the parade, but it was so stinkin' cold! We were bundled up, and Nana even had on gloves. I overheard people say it was snowing in Jackson that morning. We just stayed home after the parade and barbecued steaks on our new charcoal grill! We ate steak, corn on the cob, bread and Boston creme pie for dessert from Costco in Pocatello, which we stopped at on our way home from Utah Friday afternoon. Saturday evening we drove over near the fairgrounds in Rexburg and watched the fireworks display. I love that we can get there about 20 minutes before the show starts and get an excellent place to park. It was quite chilly sitting outside waiting for the fireworks to begin, so Nana got creative and used the chair bags as leg "blankets." This is what she looked at by the end of the fireworks show: After the show, we went home and let off a few fireworks we had bought earlier in the day.

Nana looks cuddly all bundled up for the fireworks.

You all do realize it is July and you are wearing jackets. That seems pretty crazy to a Las Vegan.
