Trip to Washington/Oregon Coast, Day 3

After leaving the hotel in Vancouver, we headed to Portland to eat breakfast at some famous-ish biscuit restaurant that has been featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.  Landon got biscuits and gravy (his favorite breakfast of all time) and we each had biscuit sandwiches.  We should have had the biscuits and gravy.  Definitely the best option.  Anyway, it was fun to have the experience of eating at a trendy little dive in Portland.  We hit the road to Tillamook after breakfast.  We stopped at the Blue Heron cheese place first, where we sampled everything possible and ended up buying 2 kinds of brie and a bottle of bleu cheese vinaigrette dressing.  Next stop, the Tillamook cheese factory where we sampled cheese and bought ice cream cones.
Then we shopped at Fred Meyer to buy food for dinner that night.  We had volunteered to make dinner for David's family (with whom we were sharing a rented beach house in Netarts), and my parents who had also rented a beach house not far from ours.  After our shopping trip, we met my parents in the parking lot of the Fred Meyer and David's family, who had also just arrived.  While we were all greeting one another, Oliviana popped out from behind a car and started running toward us.  We were under the impression Kristen's family wouldn't be joining us at the coast, so we were all surprised!  Kristen, Manase and Oliviana had flown in that morning and had been planning their trip since May!  They stayed with my parents in their beach house.
We all went to our houses, got settled, made and ate dinner, then spent some very windy, cold time on the beach.  Fun day!!

Levi, enjoying a Tillamook beef stick.

Phoebe, the oldest cousin, with Levi, the youngest.

Kristen and Manase, eating our yummy dinner of Tri-tip steak, salad and bread.

The kids had fun exploring outside our house.  Our house was up a hill in the forest.

Levi was so cold and breathless because of the wind, that he snuggled right into me as we walked on the beach.  It was really cute!

I'm assuming some kind of game with the cousins?

You made the best steak dinner!!
I loved seeing everyone's shock at seeing the Finaus. That was a fun secret to keep. I loved every bit of our coast adventure. It was beyond perfect for this old Grammy.
